Mystery Shopping Introduction

Strategy
Mystery consumer Strategy is a powerfull tool used externally by marketing agencies, trendsetting organizations, or internally to check or evaluate quality of service
Tasks
Mystery shoppers perform specific tasks such as go to shops, asking question and purchase a product. An other popular action is to register complaints and get behavor in a certain way, and then provide detailed reports orfeedback about their experiences.
Mystery consumer's specific identity and purpose is not famous by the establishment being evaluated.






History of Mystery shopping

This strategy was standard practice by the early 1940s as a way to measure employee integrity. Tools used for mystery shopping assessments range from simple questionnaires to complete audio and video recordings.

This kind of checking can be used in any industry:
- retail stores,
-hotels&ressorts,
-restaurants,
- renting apartments agencies,
- health&sport clubs
- Luxury shops


Since 2010, more and more you can find this practice in the medical & tourism industry, with healthcare providers and medical facilities using the tool to assess and improve the customer service experience
